Conformity List for European Standards

Koganei will assist you to achieve CE marking compliance declaration.

1. What is CE Marking?

The CE marking is a mandatory European marking for certain product groups to indicate conformity with the essential health and safety requirements set out in European Directives. Formerly, the Member States of the European Union set their own national legislation and standard in order to guarantee the product quality and safety. However, the existence of all the different national legislation was a barrier to the aim of the EU in realizing one Single Market. In such circumstances, the European CE certification procedure was set up to harmonize all varying national regulations as well as to enhance the safety of products.

In order to affix the CE marking to a product, the manufacturer must make a compliance declaration for its final product to be exported.

2. The applicable European Directives

So far many EU Product Directives have required the affixing of the CE marking. Among them, pneumatic components are related to the following three Directives;

A. Directive of Machinery: Effective in Jan. 1, 1995
This Directive prescribes the essential health and safety requirements about machinery.
B. Directive of Electromagnetic Compatibility(EMC): Effective in Jan. 1, 1996
This Directive applies to the products which generates electromagnetic waves or are functionally damaged by them, for example, domestic appliances, refrigerators, motors, etc.
C. Directive of Low Voltage Electrical Equipment: Effective in Jan. 1, 1997
This prescribes the electric safety requirements about the products used in the ranges of 50 to 1000VAC and 75 to 15000VDC

3. Koganei CE certification procedure

Koganei has obtained COC (Certificate of Conformity) which proves conformity to European EN standards about various solenoid valves and sensor switches through an Authorized Certification Body of the EU, TUV Rheinland Japan.

When you want to hold the CE Marking for your equipments or products which use Koganei solenoid valves or sensor switches as components, it would be greatly advantageous in the conformity assessment procedure.

4. List of Koganei products conforming to the European standards (as of April 1st 2014)

4-1. Solenoid valves

Depending on the specification and order code of the certificated product, it may not conform to the European standards. Especially for G010 series and Micro 3-port Solenoid Valve 005 Series , “–VD” will be necessary at the end of the order code to conform to the European standards.
